WORKSHOP: LOOSELY BOUND – STITCHED BOOK FORMS
Sunday 20 August, 1-4pm, English Bridge Workshop, Abbey Foregate, Shrewsbury
Explore the world of stitched bindings and learn to make your own books. In this workshop you’ll learn how to make a simple book and be introduced to different binding techniques such as Japanese stab binding. You’ll also begin your own unique book project from recycled papers and found materials. Bookmaking is both a contemporary and traditional craft, useful to those interested in art, design, writing and self-publishing.

Get creative with words! In this workshop you will create poems, stories and your own artwork out of book pages and magazines. Using drawing and collage, I will demonstrate simple techniques to help you read between the lines and work with text on a new level. WORKSHOP: UNFOLDINGS – FOLDED BOOK FORMS
Experience the magic of making books through simple folding techniques. In this workshop you’ll learn how to make your own books, pamphlets and zines. We’ll have fun making concertina books and folded book forms that can be conjured from a single piece of paper. Bookmaking is both a contemporary and traditional craft, useful to those interested in art, design, writing and self-publishing.
