CATHEDRAL OF THE TREES

In this 2022 micro-residency with Gaia Redgrave’s Cathedral of the Trees project (funded by Utopias Bach), I responded to various woodland locations special to me with photography, making and words. Gaia sent her selected artists a beautiful talking stick made out of willow (shaped like a crochet hook), and some inspiration for response. Spending time with the talking stick I wrote, spoke, made a crochet necklace and went wild swimming. The residency was a personal and thereputic process, which was an interesting change for me as someone who usually works with groups.
