THE ARTFUL OUTDOORS

PROJECT NOTES

The Artful Outdoors was a 1-year project funded by Arts Council England’s Developing Your Creative Practice scheme. Over the year, I aimed to take my practice in a new direction, focusing on nature and the outdoors. On my blog (in the menu above) you’ll find posts from over the year, detailing artist walks, creative journeys, collaboration notes and DYCP reflections. I am very thankful to have received this award and am still developing my work based on the activities and research I was supported to do.

On this project page you’ll find details of The Arousing, a commission completed in March 2021 for Meadow Arts. I was able to use a lot of my DYCP development towards this work. My Café Creatives project with Arts Connection last summer was also influenced by my DYCP activities, as was my Summer Studio project for Radiate Arts.

The more recent images in the painting section of this website shows the visual work I created in the same year.

You can also find some new content generated on my new youtube channel (including Breathe, a filmpoem
that I made when ill at home with Covid) and on Instagram.

I also started working on an idea for a book in this year of developing my practice, which I am now working on as a PhD proposal.
